  I just watched the final video from this years convention. OMG!!!

  i am shaking all over right now.

  i think it's worse that the bunker video.. i used to think there was no way that these people would actually "drink the cool aid" if you get my drift, but seeing this video i am now not sure it could never happen.. having a wife who i love dearly trapped in this cult is really freaking me out right now...

  i've known many talented witnesses and ex-jw's that could compose music,write novels, paint portraits etc.

  but i think this is the best art-form(music,songwriting and composing) that i have personally seen/heard so far that puts what so many of us have experienced and endured into words.i used to listen to r.e.m.

  's song "losing my religion" and think how great it would be if someday an ex-jw could do a song that would apply even more to us.

  I think the song "Freedom" by Anthony Hamilton ( theme of Django unchained) is almost perfectly fit to the life of a JW who is waking up. It talks about o physical slavery and physical freedom but the feeling is identical.

  Commentary on the Letter of James

  zoiks inspired this thread when he mentioned this book elsewhere.. i have read other threads on this forum about it, but i always enjoy the fresh insight on here.. commentary on the letter of james was always my favorite book from wtbs, partly because i love the book of james, but also because it was one of the books that dealt with more practical christian living than constant wt doctrine.. i mentioned to a number of people that i loved that book, and got a few comments of "well, you know that book was written by an apostate.".

  it didnt take me long to do a little math - that book came out i believe in 1979/1980, right around the time of the great purge.

  how could someone write such an excellent book and then be branded an apostate just a few months later???.

  I was surprised some time time ago to discover that Raymond Franz wrote the old Family Life book. Is that true? Considering it has some of the more infamous statements on sexuality and gender relations.

  I'd not be that shocked. Ray Franz was an excellent human being but WAS a christian, JW, conservative about sexual morals and he never denied it in any of his books. What makes him special is that he advocates that the one's opinion (his, for example) isn't the rule for anyone else but the oneself. But he's never been anything that resembles what a secular humanist is nowadays.

  the woman in middle is reporter susanna päivärinta and the lady at right is josefina pakomaa who was abused by family friend - a jw - when she was 11. a vicious apostate today.

  at today's wt study about child baptism, someone commented and she pointed to the picture of the little girl playing with her teddy bear.

  she said, 'she may be looking at her bear and thinking about getting to play with bears in the new system.

  her parents notice this, and they decide since it's real to her she may be ready for baptism.

  If a teenager JW wants to date a girl, even a JW girl, all the congregation, the elders, the watchtower, the GB will say that dating is the way to marriage and it's a such an important decision that must not be taken without thinking twice.

  If a KID wants to be baptized (subjecting themselves to disfellowshiping in the future) they say it's totally normal and they should go on.

  This cult can't get more shameful.

  New brochure about donations.

  in this midweek meeting the local needs was a booooring speech about the new brochure on donations.

  the wt must think the jws are dying to know how to give their money.. well, it's not new this is disgusting but this time, after i ve been slightly hinting people here and there for a year about the 'abnormal request of money' and remind them that 'the faithful slave wasn't like that until some time ago', this time i saw their faces.

  they did get bothered with that talk.

  Do JWs Say They Are Fulfilling Prophetic Bible Prophecies Any Longer?

  every bible book pretty much was applied to the “anointed remnant “.

  if a prophet blew his nose it was a fulfillment of a future deed done by the “anointed”.. have they stopped this nonsense?

  They said it indeed. But right after it they also said that the way Jesus shared the multiplied bread (handing to the disciples and then, the disciples handing to the people) was foreseeing the way He would feed people spiritually today (The GB bulshit).
